These unique pen and ink, colored pencil and watercolor drawings reveal all the passion and imagination that Hawaii and her history has brought to this artist. Depicting Hawaiians engaged in fishing, canoeing, hunting, weaving and dancing; the essential elements for sustaining life and the Polynesian culture in the islands. Intricate and provacative patterns adorn the borders, reminisant of the beatifully made tapa cloths with their geometric designs; and family tatoos (TATAO) originated in Polynesia.

Sue Swerdlow's Gallerie Luna is located in the historic town of Kapaau on the Big Island of Hawaii.  Sue's studio gallery in Waikaloa Village, set above the sparkling Pacific, is also open to visitors, by appointment.
