"Hale Mahina (house of the moon), is conveniently located between the Volcano golf course and the winery at the Volcano Golf & Country Club Subdivision. This beautiful 2 bedroom 2 bath furnished turn key home finished construction in June of 2005.

This home was designed by local artist and gallery owner Sue Swerdlow and built in the "Plantation Cottage" style. The wide staircase leads up to the spacious lanai while the glass paned French doors welcome you into the open floor plan. Under the valted ceiling, the kitchen cabinets, Island and Crown moulding are all quality Maple wood. All the living spaces are well appointed with attention to detail and thoughtfulness in creating cozy and interesting interiors.

As cocktail hour approaches, watch from your lanai as the sun sets behind Mauna Loa, while the colorful neighborhood Chinese Pheasants scurry to their night time nests. As the cool night air descends upon the village, snuggle up to the warmth of the gas log fire place.

Volcano Golf Course, Country Club, Volcanoes National Park, Bird Park and Volcano Village, are only minutes from Hale Mahina.  Sea Mountain Golf course and Punaluu Black Sand Beach (where you might see Green sea turtles) is a beautiful 25 minute drive.

Hale Mahina is nestled amongst the Ohia trees and some of the worlds most beautiful forests in the crisp mountain air at the crest of the sunny side of Volcano.
